Motorcycle Show - New York

Sunday, January 18th, we went to the International Motorcycle Show at the Jacob Jarvits Convention Center in NY. At this event, the Motor Maids, along with other women's groups, were volunteers to help Sue Slate cover the Womens Motorcycling Foundation booth.

We took the 7:33 a.m train from the Trenton station and arrived at New York's Penn Station before 9 a.m. and took a cab to the convention center. This was less hassle then trying to drive and park in NY. In addition, it was snowing! Plus, this was my first experience traveling by train. Good thing Nancy knew where she was going and what she was doing!

Nancy and I spent our time at the "Women Ride!" information booth, along with "Suicide" and "Sniper" from Blaque Pearls MC in Harlem. It was very interesting talking about the different cultures and different issues they deal with in their areas and how they try to work with other clubs to keep problems to a minimum and promote women motorcyclists. One of the things Suicide found interesting was that we did not have "nicknames" and she felt we should have them. So, she is going to come up with nicknames for Nancy and I and send them to us. This should be interesting!
