Motorcycle Show - Washington, DC

The Motor Maids were Show Ambassadors for the International Motorcycle Show held in Washington, DC this weekend. Nancy and I drove down to help at the show today. We left our meeting spot on McDade Blvd at 6:00 a.m. and arrived at the convention center by 8:00. We had no traffic and the weather was fine considering it was a little icy when we left our respective homes at 5:00 a.m. Next weekend we do it all over again in NY.

I worked at the "post card booth" with Patsy and Joe while Nancy worked inside the show at the Woman's Motorcycling booth. Post cards are mailed out each year and when they bring the card in, they get a free calendar. I was surprised at how many people said they collect these calendars and wanted to be sure they were on the mailing list for next year. Besides handing out calendars, we had to open all the entries people filled out for a chance to win a Suzuki scooter and/or a Suzuki motorcycle. I'm sure your chances of winning either are as good as winning the lottery. Just to be on the safe side, I filled out one ... you never know!

Since this is the motorcycle of my choice, it was nice seeing the Suzuki Boulevard well represented at the show. When I bought my Boulevard in 2006 the color was Gunmetal. Now, they seem to be in all colors - even two-tone "orange and black". Sound familiar? As a matter of fact, the "orange and black" vendor was next to the Boulevard.

And then, they have the cross between a motorcycle and '57 Chevy. The best of both worlds!
